Larry Shoemaker will serve as the WorldSkills Competition Expert in Plumbing. In this role, he is responsible for planning and managing the technical aspects of the competition.

Shoemaker has spent his career in the plumbing trade, beginning with his training at Berks Area Vocational Technical School. After completing his education, he entered the field and worked his way through an apprenticeship before becoming a business owner. He now serves as Director of Education for the Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors of the Lehigh Valley, a role he has held for 10 years.

Shoemaker has been involved with SkillsUSA for eight years, serving as a National Technical Committee Co-Chair and as the PA District 11 Plumbing event manager. He also served as a WorldSkills Plumbing observer at the WorldSkills Competition in Lyon in 2024.

When asked what serving as a technical expert means to him, Shoemaker says, “WorldSkills is an extraordinary event that showcases students’ dedication to success.”
